Entry #6 Arizona Cardinals
Football season is halfway over and the Cardinals are 2-6 going into their bye week.
It has been very difficult watching this season so far. The Cardinals are the only team who have yet to get 300 yards of total offense in a game this season. They fired their offensive coordinator Mike McCoy because of this and promoted quarterbacks coach Byron Leftwich to offensive coordinator. In his debut as the Cardinals offensive coordinator, we saw an offense that looked similar to last years. we saw more of Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson which is a plus, but most importantly they won. However, the Cardinals still need to do a better job at protecting Josh Rosen, who is the future of this franchise.
Earlier this week, Patrick Peterson wanted out of Arizona and had requested a trade. He was frustrated with their start to the season and I'm sure they all were. Later he came out and told the media he wants to stay and be part of the solution. Peterson is our best defensive player and arguably the best corner in the league. He has been to the Pro-Bowl in each of his seven seasons in the league.
The Cardinals are in a rebuilding phase. So would it smart to trade him for some draft picks? I think if he doesn't want to be here anymore then we should trade him considering we could get a lot for him. However, the trade deadline is Tuesday.
Although there is still a lot of football left, I think this season is over for the Cardinals. We should start to focus on the draft. I am definitely excited to see how the offseason plays out and who we decide to draft.

It has been a disappointing season for sure. Writing about the Cardinals if a great topic for a self-generated entry, but remember that you need to make a "point" in each post aside from just reporting on some facts/statistics.
